Category Reference (invention)
Character George Crabtree
Mentioned The Glass Ceiling

A Royles Self-Pouring Teapot was invented by John James Royle and made by Doulton & Co. in 1886.

Contable George Crabtree found it referenced in a book of patents as one invented by Jacques Raphoz (see Trivia below) in 1892 during the investigation of the murder of Percival Pollack ("The Glass Ceiling").

  • Jacques Raphoz is actually a member of the art department for Murdoch Mysteries. His name appears in the patent book as an in-joke.
