Leslie Hope was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada as Leslie Ann Hope. Leslie is a dual citizen of both Canada and the US. She is an actress, director, and producer. 

As an actor she is known for Never Back Down (2008), 24 (2001) and Talk Radio (1988). She played Secretary of the Navy Sarah Porter in NCIS (2013 -14).

She directed and wrote Gaykeith and produced and directed the award-winning documentary What I See When I Close My Eyes.

Her 2015 projects were Jesse Stone: Lost in Paradise (TV Movie) and Crimson Peak.

In Season 4 of Murdoch Mysteries, Hope directed Dial M for Murdoch.

In Season 9, she returns to Murdoch Mysteries as Mrs. Elizabeth Pym (nee Cummersworth) suspected of being a 'black widow' in Unlucky In Love and is the director of Colour Blinded.
