In his youth, Tash had been on the rowing team at the King's Rowing Club. Years later when Detective William Murdoch is investigating the murder of Richard Hartley at the club, Dr. Ogden arranges a meeting between Murdoch and Dr. Tash so that he could show Murdoch around the grounds. Tash leads Murdoch to Hell's Point, the site of a violent hazing ritual in Still Waters.
In Shades of Grey, it is revealed that after Julia Ogden had become pregnant out of wedlock and had to make the difficult choice, she asked Isaac to help her but he refused to break the law. So Julia went elsewhere for an abortion that nearly killed her and it was Isaac who saved her life. Murdoch believes that Dr. Tash was the father of Julia's unwanted child.
Quietly and discreetly, Dr. Tash in his practice will help women without judgment or questions because he does not want to see another woman go through what Julia did.
- It will take nine seasons to finally reveal that Isaac Tash not only saved Julia's life, he mended her body so a doctor renowned for his work in fertility informs Julia that should be able to conceive (ep.1104) and with the assistance of experimental hormone therapy, she does (ep.1111).
