Wilhelm His was a Swiss anatomist. He developed a technique whereby clay was used to build up a human skull to determine what the deceased looked like.
Detective William Murdoch asked Dr. Julia Ogden to use this technique on the skull of Edward Green ("Body Double").
In Season 7, Ogden mentions him to Dr. Grace when reconstructing a woman's face (Return of Sherlock Holmes).
