The L.A.P.T.O.P. or Levered Action Portable Truth Overview Protector is an element of the Nightmare on Queen Street webseries. Detective William Murdoch gives it to the viewer who is in the role of a "visiting detective." Each week, the L.A.P.T.O.P.'s Notebook is updated with instructions for the viewer to follow.
The L.A.P.T.O.P. contains collected evidence and documents to be examined, Murdoch's Animatographic Kinetoscope which allows recorded messages to be viewed and a toolbox with various devices handy for deciphering codes and examining evidence. The viewer is prompted to click on various sections of the L.A.P.T.O.P. depending upon which stage of the story is being viewed.
