Leonard Winters was the treasurer at the Masonic Lodge in Season 3 of Murdoch Mysteries, portrayed by Sergio DiZio.

Appearances and Mentions[]

Victor, Victorian[]

  • Leonard was a good worker and member of the lodge, however, he began to suspect his wife of infidelity when she kept spending time with the lodge's newest initiate Victor Bernard. Unknown to him, Miriam had discovered that Victor was actually a woman and the two became friends.
  • Unknown to Miram, Leonard Winters had hired private investigator Francis LaChapelle to follow his wife her and investigate Victor Bernard during which time LaChapelle witnessed Victor having an allergic reaction to peanuts, which he had reported to Leonard.
  • After LaChapelle had confirmed his suspicions, Leonard saw no other alternative than to kill Victor during his initiation, using his new knowledge about Victor.
  • LaChapelle had figured out that Leonard killed Victor and blackmailed him. Promising to paying him for his silence, Leonard instead kills him. Afterwards, Leonard breaks into LaChapelle's office to remove any evidence that could connect him to the murder, but he misses a negative to a picture that leads Murdoch to arrest him.
  • When he learned the truth of Victor true identity, he is shocked, probably also due to fact that he killed Victor for erroneous reasons, but he does regret his actions and can't bear to face his wife.
  • Leonard is hanged for his crimes, (confirmed ep.511).
