Baker House was an organisation under the direction of Calvin Baker. A series of separate homes for boys and girls were operated for homeless or destitute children who were largely sent from England.
Polly and Charlie Dunlap were two such children sent from England. Polly was adopted by Howard and Flora Rookwood.
Lavish fundraisers for Baker House were held in Toronto. Patrons included Howard Rookwood and Peter Watt.
