• Wallace has a criminal record for being a publicity hound trying to become a martyr.
• Wallace was fired from Milne's employ for speaking against his capitalist greed, which was withholding proper wages from his workers.
• Later on, on the day Milne's shop was bombed, Angus Trout witnessed Wallace kick up a fuss before the explosion. This made Wallace a suspect in the bombing. While being interviewed by Detective William Murdoch, who mentioned that Emma Goldman was in Toronto, causing Wallace to leap to the conclusion that Murdoch believed him to be an anarchist. Wallace identified himself as a communist and dismissed anarchy as an unworkable political theory, as society cannot function without any governing body. When Murdoch insinuated that some people believe the anarchist to be behind the attack, Wallace quickly took credit for the bombing, claiming it was the start of the workers' revolution. A skeptical Murdoch argued him out of his guilt by questioning him meticulously about how the bombing was conducted. For uttering a false confession. Chief Constable Giles then had Wallace charged with obstruction of justice.
• Wallace was later released on the orders of Inspector Brackenreid, who wasn't keen on feeding him any free lunches. He then proceeded to join the anarchists. Just after arriving, he spotted Murdoch, who had infiltrated the anarchists and outed his identity as a policemen to the group. Murdoch then dropped all pretense and arrested the anarchist Pierce, who had committed a second bombing independent of the first.
